I don't know if you remember these speakers, but they're not compact as the name suggests, they're about a foot and a half high, 8 inch bass, four inch mid, dome tweeter and a port. All KEF units, if you're interested. The way I have them placed tends to accentuate the bass, but taking that into account, I'd say you had it about right.
