One step forward, two steps back

Well, the nuts and files finally arrived and I've strung the James Bisset 50th Anniversary guitar, opened up the current nut with the files to suit my strings and played it for a while. I'm afraid it makes the old Hank Marvin Squier sound dull and clunky by comparison. Yippee!

But the wiring still isn't right. The bridge pickup is out of phase with the neck pickup. So now I need to disassemble the guitar (again) and swap a couple of wires. It also seems to lack a little bit of power. Maybe I need to replace the pots...?

And then finally I can set it up properly and put in one of the new graphite nuts.
